Did you know there are only FOUR Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shops in New Jersey? One happens to be in the NJroute22.com coverage area, right outside the Somerville Circle in Raritan, NJ.
If this was our type of thing – we’d want many more of them.
Why?
Because they seem to beat the pants of the “tired” and true Dunkin’ Donuts, that’s for sure!
This particular location happens to be quite nice, and open 24 hours!
For starters, and quite possibly the most important – we like Tim Hortons coffee 100x better than Dunkin!
Their baked goods look like they taste a whole lot better. (Note that taste and dietary preferences are subjective! But if we ate one of their Oreo Donuts – packing 60g of carbs, we’d likely need to be hospitalized! Get heart palpitations just thinking about it!)
They also sell Cold Stone ice cream – which is a step up from the Baskin Robbins that D&D pairs up with often.
The other food items also are much more appealing than the grotesque re-heated nonsense other places serve. Such as hearty bowls, and even various fresh soups. We have our eyes on their homestyle chili the next time we’re in the area!
For fans of their product – they sell both coffee beans (which have some kind of “sustainable” mantra associated with them), as well as “K-Cups,” which we’re not fans of – but MANY people are, which is why they have them.
Lastly, the staff was friendly and accommodating, which exceeds expectations for a chain food store. Must they take care of their employees?
