Top 10 Carbohydrate (high carb) Memories {VLOG}
In today’s NJroute22.com VLOG – we’re going to talk about the TOP 10 Carbohydrate (or high carb) Memories we have to this day.
Being low-carb, carnivore has improved our lives tremendously. However, that doesn’t mean we have NO feelings about the previous moments in our lives.
In fact, it’s always been a troubling interaction with temptation, addiction, and perceived pleasure. It’s important to talk about these things. Not only to share with others, but to work out our own internal dilemmas.
The silver lining is that all that troubling “patience” does pay off. You get stronger each and every week that goes by in defiance of those awful foods!
So let’s chat about them.
Texture, taste, addiction, and brain manipulation
Before we rattle off our list (watch the video for the oral dictation), we need to at least point out the things about high carbohydrates that affected us.
And to simplify – the problems were: Texture, Taste, and Chemical Reactions.
- Texture: Most likely one of the worst influencers. Carbs are single-handedly responsible for the “crunch” in almost anything you eat. It’s a special crunch too. The tactile feedback in your mouth is memorable. But not “forever.” The main reason people who choose to go low-carb want to replace that “crunch” by any means necessary isn’t (in our opinion) just because of the crunch itself. It’s because the crunch was accompanied by an addictive “supporting actor,” which is the carbs. We associate crunch with “good” or “yummy,” but that is not the case. The connection is the blood sugar spike or whatever else causes carbs to addict people. That is why whenever we’ve tried to replicate the exact sensation, but with low carb ingredients – it never felt the same. It was not good to us.
- Taste: We’ve mentioned in previous vlogs that we’ve begun to really simplify the foods we eat. Those spices and other ingredients were certainly “exciting” for out mouths, but by no means necessary. It’s kind of a sham to “demand” more elaborate tastes and so on. They cloud reality when you think about it. It’s like static and TV commercials for your mouth and brain. After re-discovering the love of plain meat with a pinch of sea salt – all other spices and “flavor overload” seems excessive. As if people cannot be content anymore because they’ve been destroyed!
- Chemical Reactions: Another major point. Most folks associate the wrong thing with their “love” for a particular food. When in fact it’s the chemical reaction happening in their bodies that is the main operator in their so-called love. Crunch plus MSG will make you think it was the crunch that was the best part. Sick game they’re playing on most individuals.
