Wow, not too long ago – the “outlet” shops at Liberty Village in Flemington, NJ was one option to get clothes for kids.

No more kids clothes at Liberty Village in Flemington, NJ!

One of the last remaining reasons we ever had to visit Liberty Village Outlet Marketplace in Flemington was because they had FOUR shops that sold kids clothing.

Carter’s, Osh Kosh, Gymboree, and Polo.

They’re all gone now.

But they weren’t even that great to begin with

Honestly – this is really not much of a blow. Because the actual quality of those four stores was nothing to write home about.

The selection – especially at Carter’s, was weak. It was horrible compared to the Carter’s up in Roxbury that is still open.

And the prices were not that fantastic either. The best places like Polo could do was get 50% off a second of the same item. That did us no good most of the time, as we really didn’t want to spend extra for something that wasn’t necessarily needed. The ideal way to “save” money is to not spend it, and getting excess at a savings is no savings at all.

But we did enjoy at least having the option to check this place out, as finding a good deal wasn’t downright impossible. We just have fewer choices nowadays.

So what next for Liberty Village?

We asked several employees at various stores what their opinions about this fledgling outlet, and got different responses.

From entirely closing down to perhaps new life breathed into the retail spot. But one kid had an interesting theory. Because of the environmental trouble that may exist at this site (speculation), it’s possible it just gets razed and left vacant for the foreseeable future. Who knows.

Either way, it never had that warm, cozy feeling anyway. You could tell that the love for this property was missing. And that is too bad.
