Smirnoff Spiked Seltzers {New Flavors Reviewed}
Today’s NJroute22.com VLOG features the “King of the Hill” of Spiked Seltzers: Smirnoff Spiked Sparkling Seltzer.
This was our original foray into the alcoholic seltzer world – and has remained the top choice since.
We’ve had some seltzers that might have contained more alcohol (White Claw) – or perhaps slightly better flavor (Crook & Marker) – but Smirnoff retains their top spot because of the overall rating. Almost lowest carb, no weird taste, and definitely no hangover whatsoever. The taste of their original flavors left something to be desired, but they’re making improvements.
The new Pina Colada flavor is our favorite at the moment – but we hate buying 6-packs because they’re costlier than the 12-packs. So we still stick with the variety-packs.
New Rosé Smirnoff Spiked Sparkling Seltzers
Originally – Smirnoff only had one “Rosé” flavor: Raspberry Rosé.
We discovered a new “Rosé” Variety pack recently – that introduces three new Rosés to the lineup:
Pink Apple
Strawberry
White Peach
On top of the original Raspberry (which was “okay” in our opinion). It was nice to mix up the other flavors in the variety pack – if not just for a change of pace.
So how are the new flavors?
Pink Apple was really enjoyable. Something about that tart apple taste makes the drink highly pleasurable. Not overly “appley” either! We hope they offer this as a 12-pack alone one day soon. Kind of brings back apple Jolly Rancher memories, but not in an over-sweet way.
Strawberry and Peach were rather pedestrian in comparison. Not awful – but not memorable either.
Best price for these we could find was $14.99 over at ShopRite Wines & Spirits in Clinton. Save an extra two bucks when you buy two packs.
We’ll keep this version in our rotation for the foreseeable future until they make the apple available in 12-packs.
Enjoy!
