Shoprite from Home of Phillipsburg, NJ {VLOG}
In today’s NJroute22.com VLOG – we briefly talk about our experience using the Shop from Home feature at the Shoprite of Phillipsburg, NJ (technically Shoprite of Greenwich).
As many know (due to the “crisis”), that “curbside pickup” has become a widespread feature of many stores. Food stores such as Shoprite Supermarkets – have had a delivery service to your car for quite a while already. But it seems to us, that more people are choosing to use this “minimal contact” way of acquiring household necessities.
For reasons we won’t delve too deeply into here, we’ve utilized the Shoprite Shop from Home feature extensively over the past six months. In the early stages of the “crisis,” orders were not only difficult to obtain (often a week or more in advance), but also very “sketchy” in terms of the amount of your order that was actually fulfilled.
Things have improved vastly since the “outbreak.”
We used the Shop at Home service at the Phillipsburg, NJ Shoprite recently. Because we had a specific day we needed our items – and they were only of the only ones that had a timeslot we wanted.
While it was a relatively small order – they were short on a couple of items, most notably our favorite low-carb coffee creamer – Heavy Cream. Seemed odd they were so short.
But otherwise, the order fulfillment was relatively average. It is obvious that some Shoprite locations just do better than others. Or it can be like a hair salon – depending on the time and day you choose to place your order. Who knows.
The bottom line is that it’s not a perfect system – but gets the job done for the most part. Times were better before the “crisis,” that is for sure.
