We checked out some of the more “popular” social media platforms over the past month. Specifically, things that require video – such as “SnapChat.”
And we became a bit dismayed at the content we viewed.
In today’s NJroute22.com VLOG – we chat about the very fine lines between lazy narcissistic habits, and the desire to communicate and educate others.
Yes, NJroute22.com has a blog and a VLOG over on YouTube and BitChute. But we didn’t choose to do this because we like attention per se – but rather that we have a desire to share helpful information as much as possible. (Note we tried a doggy series just to share puppy notes with others, but discontinued that for personal reasons.)
We hope to gain more traction eventually – as “the truth” usually finds it’s audience at some point. But we’re astounded that completely useless content gains many more eyeballs than other long-form material – or long-term discussions that require contemplation and deeper thought.
I guess in the end, we’re concerned for “us” as a society. If easy, stupid, mindless things are what most people like doing, where does that leave the thinkers and helpers of our world?
