We’ve seen this massive communications tower often when we’ve driven through the Martinsville section of Bridgewater, NJ. But we never “checked it out.” Until recently.
It’s located on Tower Road, which is quite fitting. See map below.
The tower is situated on one of the highest peaks in the area.
And it’s evident – just looking at a simulated 3D map of the area – that it has a direct “line of sight” to Manhattan.
What is the purpose of this tower?
We have no idea exactly what this tower does. Or who it serves.
I reckon it has multiple clients, etc. Probably both public and private sector. A company called American Tower owns it. You can’t learn much about it via their website. We suppose one can find out via a public records search – but we just don’t have the resources right now.
I can’t imagine what it’s like to live near that towering monstrosity. Has to have some mega-high frequency signals buzzing from it 24 hours a day. I wouldn’t want to be near here if a Zombie-apocolypse happens, that’s for sure!
But if it helps you binge-watch, then hooray for everyone!
