Hunterdon County gets a Harbor Freight Tools!

Good news for value tool lovers – Harbor Freight Tools is set to open on Route 202 in Flemington, NJ on Tuesday, January 28, 2020.

We happen to make regular visits to Harbor Freight Tools along the NJroute22.com area. In particular, the Harbor Freight in Green Brook, NJ – the Harbor Freight in Easton, PA – the Harbor Freight in Parsippany, NJ, and the Harbor Freight in East Brunswick, NJ.

But there was a big void in the central/western part of New Jersey. And this new location in Flemington/Raritan fits the bill. (Another one in the Clinton area would be great too! There’s an old A&P location that would be perfect!)

Harbor Freight Tools is great – when you know what to buy!

For one, you should probably already know that Harbor Freight Tools (HFT for short) is a “value-based” store.

That means a lot of their tools and parts are not of the utmost best quality (i.e., made in China crap). For instance, we probably wouldn’t buy most of their power tools – and their bottom of the line tools are like really cheap – almost disposable. If you’re in a pinch, fine – but not for your ongoing tool chest.

Some of their more “premium” products are indeed quite good. We wouldn’t be surprised if they were made at the same facilities that other “Brand name” products are made. The objective is to choose wisely.

Next – no one should ever pay full price for anything there. They always have 20% coupons – and other coupon-based promotions. They sometimes even have bigger deals – you just have to get on their mailing list – which is very helpful in saving money.

Other than that – nothing special to say about this new location – as it will be practically identical to all the others. Have fun!
