We’re taking a day off today, to enjoy the holiday. We hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving in the NJroute22.com area! But we do have a bit of an issue today.
What to eat?
Bring your own (BYO) Thanksgiving Dinner?
Like we mentioned in one of our videos recently, we think we might do a first this year. That is – pack our own food to bring to Thanksgiving dinner! BYO!
When you watch what you eat, it’s prudent to foresee what may lie ahead. And in the case of a traditional Thanksgiving meal, options for low-carb individuals might be slim (no pun intended).
Other than the dark meat on Turkey (which more often than not is over-cooked and dry), there are not too many options left on the table (also no pun intended.)
Potatoes, stuffing, bread, rolls, cookies, pasta, and tons of other blood-sugar-raising dishes are served. We have no need to control what others eat, but we do have to take care of number one, right?
While one option may be to eat before heading over, that kind of spoils the fun to watch everyone else eat while you twiddle your fingers at the dinner table.
So we’ll try to figure something out. Maybe we’ll bring our own dish (Turkey Chili sounds pretty good) or just secretly eat in the car at various intervals.
I’ll make mention of what we did in a future VLOG.
Happy Thanksgiving again!
