For many decades – Fabricland was a visual staple along Route 22 westbound over in North Plainfield, NJ. As of today – they’ve moved and that “retro” building is in the process of being demolished.
Kind of weird to see the old spot go away. It felt like home, didn’t it? Like a familiar face you’re used to seeing.
Their new location is in the building that formerly housed Harbor Freight Tools.
Fabricland Moves to Green Brook, NJ
Today? Fabricland has moved into their new location over in the former Harbor Freight Tools building located at 270 US-22 West over in Green Brook, NJ (just 5 minutes down the road).
They said their old building was outdated (i.e., a euphemism for falling apart and not worth fixing!)
I guess they need to come up with a new one?

Not just Fabricland, but Metropolitan Window Fashions too
We find Fabricland fascinating. Fabrics used to be a huge business, as many people made things themselves. That, sadly, is a dwindling pastime. However, Fabricland remains.
Most of their business, however, is dedicated to ready-made, or customized window treatments. Hence, why they have Metropolitan Window Fashions as a sister business (also located in Paramus and Manhattan).
It’s good to know there is still a place you can go to find the fabric of your choice. They may be a bit costlier than other “Big Box” stores that might sell similar products, but you can bet the quality is significantly better at Fabricland.
