As with any hobby, pastime, or regular activity in life – you can become a fanatic. That almost always ends up taking you down some path to obsessive upgrades (i.e., “gamification”) – because most humans aren’t happy with being content. The need to have something better (like a $1000 frying pan) is worth it for some people – even though it probably makes no real difference – except in their own minds.
We have had great success with a $15 copper cooking pan from Ocean State Job Lot. It’s been reliable, easy to cook on, and a thrill to clean up. One of the best purchases we’ve made over the past five or so years. It gets used nearly every single day.
