Coors Hard Seltzer Review {VLOG}
In today’s NJroute22.com VLOG – we chime in about the Coors Spiked Seltzer.
The basics are as follows: 4.5% ABV, “90 calories,” and four simple flavors, Black Cherry, Mango, Lemon Lime, and Grapefruit. The cost is okay, I believe around $14.99 per 12-pack.
But the bad news is that while these are “only” 2 grams of carbs per can – those carbs are entirely added sugar. It’s a deal-breaker for us honestly. Because the “taste,” (and I put taste in quotes because it’s not only just a taste – it’s a full chemical reaction in your body) is okay – but what you feel on your tongue isn’t the only part of the story.
And of course – Molson Coors, being one of the largest alcohol companies in the world – just HAD to include some kind of virtue signaling extra to the marketing.
These “Coors with a Mission” seltzers are all about “restoring our rivers.” Apparently, one 12-pack restores 500 gallons of river water. Also, this “mission” only is slated to last a single year (expires summer 2021). By then everyone probably will have forgotten about the feel-good nonsense.
Honestly, we hate these kinds of add-ons to the drinks. It’s as if they are literally forced to come up with some kind of feel-good slant to the product. Probably aimed at the millennial generation and younger. Older people couldn’t give a crap about that. It’s really just marketing and gimmicks. I swear you can’t get anything these days without some kind of mission or charity attached to them. Just like Toms shoes – who actually gave one pair of shoes away for each pair bought. Why shouldn’t the customer be able to opt-in? I would have much rather paid 50% less for each pair than donate. You know what I’m saying?
In the end – we will most likely never purchase these again.
